AGSEM's Feedback on the 2020 -2025 EDI Plan

We recently learned that McGill's 2020 - 2025 Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) Plan will be considered at today's Senate meeting for Senate endorsement. It is surprising to hear that the approval of the plan is going forward in the current circumstances. We had wanted to provide feedback from AGSEM, but the consultation website was taken down without warning before we had the opportunity to do so. Still, we felt it important to give recommendations on the EDI Plan itself before it is heard at Senate today (and presented at the Board of Governors later this week). We do encourage efforts to help build a more equitable, more openly accepting, more inclusive University community, but we have significant concerns about the 2020 - 2025 EDI Plan.
